Corner Dining Sets

The L-shaped sofa wraps around one side of the table, a bench sits opposite, and everyone ends up facing each other. It is a more sociable layout than separate chairs, and it tucks into garden corners and wall-side patios where a rectangular setup would not quite work.

Our corner dining set seats up to eight and is built from hand-woven PE rattan on a reinforced steel frame. Thick cushions run the full length of the sofa and bench, all removable for washing. The table is dining height and sized for actual meals, not just drinks.

People linger around these sets. The sofa side is comfortable enough that nobody is in a rush to get up once the food is finished. In stock at our UK warehouse.

Buying Guide

What to Look For in a Corner Dining Set

Corner dining sets combine the comfort of sofa seating with a proper dining table. The L-shaped rattan sofa wraps around one corner, a backless bench sits opposite, and a rectangular dining table goes in the middle. The result is a setup that seats up to eight people and feels more relaxed than a traditional table-and-chairs arrangement.

The sofa section is the standout feature. It uses the same deep, cushioned seating you would find on a conversation set, but raised to dining height. That means you can eat comfortably and then lean back and chat without needing to move to a different piece of furniture. It is essentially two sets in one.

Our corner dining sets are built from PE rattan on powder-coated steel. The table has a tempered glass top and sits at standard dining height, around 74cm. Cushions are included for all seating, with removable, washable covers.

Space is the main thing to plan for. A corner dining set needs a floor area of at least 3m x 2.5m, and you should add clearance for the bench side so people can get in and out. The L-shape works well in a garden corner or against two walls, which is how most customers set them up.

Assembly takes about an hour. The sofa is the most involved piece since it is built in sections that bolt together. Two people make the job much easier. For practical advice on getting the most from your outdoor dining area, read our alfresco dining blog post.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the L-shaped sofa be configured for left or right corners?

This depends on the specific model. Some corner dining sets have a fixed L-shape orientation, while others can be assembled in a left-hand or right-hand configuration. Check the product description carefully to make sure the layout suits your space before ordering.

Is the bench comfortable without a backrest?

The bench includes a seat cushion and is comfortable for the length of a meal. It does not have a backrest, which is typical for dining benches. Most people find it fine for an hour or two. Guests who want more support tend to gravitate to the sofa side of the table.

How many people can sit on the sofa section?

The L-shaped sofa comfortably seats five to six adults along its two sections. The bench opposite seats two to three more. The total capacity is around eight people, depending on how much elbow room everyone needs.

Can I store a corner dining set in winter?

The rattan and steel can stay outside all year. If you do want to store it, the sofa sections can be separated and stacked. The table and bench also break down. However, it is quite heavy, so most people simply use a fitted cover and store just the cushions indoors. See our winter storage guide for seasonal care tips.

Does the corner dining set work well for garden parties?

Very well. The mix of sofa and bench seating gives it a relaxed feel that people enjoy. The sofa side is great for pre-dinner drinks, and you can move straight into eating without changing seats. For more hosting ideas, have a look at our garden party hosting guide.
